Ceramic

Fiberglass
Fiberglass is not as strong as steel or PVC, making it more susceptible to bending and breaking. It is also not recommended for the water lines in your home or business.
Metal or Galvanized Steel
The metal pipe is made from metal pipes that are galvanized, which acts as a coating to protect the pipe from rust damage and corrosion. These pipes are best used for cold water systems that have no risk of freezing temperatures.
Stainless Steel

Copper

Copper pipe is not recommended for hot water supply lines due to its increased surface area that can lose heat.
Plastic
While plastic does not corrode, it is more susceptible to breaking and the risk of freezing temperatures. There is also the chance that plastic can give off harmful chemicals when it expands or becomes overheated.
Cast Iron
When cast iron pipes are used, you need to take caution because it can result in a backflow of toxic substances into your home and business if they are misconnected.
